Momma cat is not only a beautiful example of our feline comrades, she is a true success story! Momma is a nine year old black & gold Tabby who lives happily on the Flat Iron Wildcats compound. When we first met Momma she was a withered shell of her beautiful self, who had litter after litter of scrawny, sickly kittens that all needed homes. After several litters of kittens being born at Flat Iron, we finally learned about TNR ( Trap-Neuter-Release ). Momma was caught with a humane trap and taken to the vet where she was spayed and vaccinated. She spent five very long days inside with us until her stitches healed (she was quite mad!) and then we opened the door and out she went. She was our first cat to be TNR'd. Five years later Momma is still with us, only now she is a big strong healthy girl who loves to be petted and talked to (and she answers you back!). She stays in the Flat Iron Garden where she loves to hunt beetles, and make sure new plants are properly sniffed. |
